Aired February 26, 2000 - 8:50 p.m. ET

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.

ANDRIA HALL, CNN ANCHOR: I'm Andria Hall at CNN center in Atlanta with this breaking news.

CNN has learned the Cuban diplomat ordered out of the United States is now in custody of the FBI. He is heading to Washington National Airport transiting through Canada. He will be in Havana on Sunday.

Agents arrived at Jose Imperatori's apartment in Bethesda, Maryland just moments ago to escort him out of the U.S. Imperatori was the No. 2 man at the Cuban Interests Section in Washington. He was declared persona non grata by the U.S. State Department on February 19th. He allegedly was the contact for a high-ranking Immigration and Naturalization Service official, who had been accused of spying for Cuba.

We'll have full coverage of this development on "WORLDVIEW" at 10 p.m. Eastern.

Now back to "MOVERS WITH JAN HOPKINS."
