KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: We're going to take you live to a press conference now where the Ramseys are speaking. Well, actually, the attorneys are up at the -- there they are right there. They're taking questions from reporters with regard to being questioned by Atlanta Police.
Let's listen in.
(JOINED IN PROGRESS)
LIN WOOD, RAMSEYS' ATTORNEY: Patsy has been.
WOOD: Yes, I don't want to characterize substantively. Let me say this: From my perspective, the questions have been fair, consistent with the request made by Chief Beckner about new questions dealing with information developed or that has been found since June of 1998. So it's going very smoothly and I hope it's being productive for the investigation.
QUESTION: Have you helped them, Mr. Ramsey -- Mrs. Ramsey? Do you feel you've helped them advance their investigation?
PATSY RAMSEY: I hope so.
WOOD: We hope so.
QUESTION: In what way?
P. RAMSEY: Answering all their questions.
QUESTION: How do you feel about the tone of the interview so far?
WOOD: We're satisfied that it's within the spirit.
P. RAMSEY: Fine.
QUESTION: Do you believe they're taking you seriously, Patsy? Do you feel like (OFF-MIKE).
P. RAMSEY: I'm sorry, could you repeat that?
QUESTION: How's the relationship now. Do you feel like there's a little trust going? Do you feel like they believe what you're trying to tell them? Or what are you feeling (OFF-MIKE).
P. RAMSEY: I feel very comfortable with them and I believe they're asking pertinent questions, so I'm happy to be here.
QUESTION: Are they looking seriously at other suspects right now?
WOOD: I don't think the questions are really questions that so much go to that issue, candidly. But let me say this: We're very pleased that Chief Beckner is here. They appreciate his involvement, direct involvement, and I think he has been a very productive figure so far.
One more question.
QUESTION: What happens at 2:00? Does Patsy come back at 2:00 or are they finished?
WOOD: Patsy will come back and then we'll see if we can finish her today and get to John.
QUESTION: Will that continue through tomorrow, do you think, or not?
WOOD: We're here as long as it takes.
JOHN RAMSEY: Yes.
QUESTION: Are these talks the start of more cooperation in the future?
WOOD: We sure hope so.
OK, we'll see you after lunch.
PHILLIPS: Quick press conference there with regard to the Boulder Police here in Atlanta questioning the Ramseys about the death of their daughter JonBenet Ramsey. They say it's going smoothly, they feel comfortable with the pertinent questions, and they're happy to be here to help the police. We'll continue to follow that and bring you more as it develops.
