CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: We have been following some breaking news this morning: a report now that a car exploded near a bus north of Tel Aviv. We've got our Jerusalem bureau chief on the telephone right now, Mike Hanna.

The Associated Press is reporting some eight people injured. What do you have?

MIKE HANNA, CNN JERUSALEM BUREAU CHIEF: Well, Carol, at the moment, police are saying that there was an explosion in the central Israeli town of Hadera. At this stage, 10 people are reported to be injured -- no serious injuries reported at this particular stage.

Police say it appears to be a result of a car bombing. Police say, too, that it appears that the person driving the car, who they describe as a suicide bomber, did die in the explosion -- so, at this stage, an explosion in central Israel in the town of Hadera, one which police say was a car bomb blast -- however, no fatalities among those in the region. But police say the man driving the car, who they describe as a suicide bomber, did die in the blast -- Carol.

LIN: All right.

Mike, do you have any idea of why Hadera, why that bus?

HANNA: Once again, no party has claimed responsibility for this blast, should it indeed prove to be a suicide bomb blast. There have been a series of bomb attacks and foiled bomb attacks in a number of Israeli cities. This would appear to be -- if it was in fact as the police describe it -- would appear to be yet another case of a bombing attack against Israeli civilians.

LIN: All right. Thank you very much, Mike Hanna, reporting live from Jerusalem. We will be following this story as well this morning.
