DONNA KELLEY, CNN ANCHOR: For royal watchers in Britain the strongest indication yet that Prince Charles may marry long-time friend Camilla Parker Bowles. The two have been romantically linked for years and ITN's Helen Wright has the latest installment in this "will they or won't they" saga.

HELEN WRIGHT, ITN REPORTER (voice-over): Once at great pains to avoid being pictured together, the prince of Wales and Mrs. Parker Bowles are now increasingly seen as a couple at public events. This, their first public kiss last week when crucially she did not curtsy to Prince Charles.

But it is the prince's response to a question about their future that has now grabbed the headlines. In the an interview in "The Daily Mail" he asked if he expects to marry again. His reply, "Who knows what the Good Lord has planned. You can't be certain about anything. I don't know."

Royal watchers are seeing that as Prince Charles's clearest hint yet that he may one day marry Camilla. Something officials have until now said he has no intention of doing.

(on camera): St. James' palace has been surprised by the intense interest in a single remark in a lengthy interview. Officials here put a very different spin on it. They say the prince is saying he's not going talk about whether he'll marry again or about the future, because no one knows what the future holds.
