STEPHEN FRAZIER, CNN ANCHOR: I'm Stephen Frazier at the CNN Center in Atlanta. We'd like to bring you up-to-date now on events coming from Genoa, Italy where the G8 Summit is now under way and where we are getting recent word that a protester has been killed. Authorities from the Italian police confirm now that one protester or demonstrator has an injury to his head. They can't tell whether it's from a bullet or a rock or brick. And they do not say that the person has been hit by a vehicle, as was earlier reported. But they do say one person has been hurt in these violent demonstrations, which began yesterday afternoon and are continuing today to protest the meeting of the leaders of the seven wealthiest neighbors -- nations, plus Russia in the Mediterranean port city of Genoa.

We'll have more details as they become available.
