DONNA KELLEY, CNN ANCHOR: Washington intern Chandra Levy has been missing for 82 days now. Following weeks of searching and probing into Levy's relationship with California Congressman Gary Condit, D.C. police say that they continue to get dozens of possible tips each day, but they're still waiting for that one clue that could break the case.

CNN's Jonathan Aiken joins us now from Washington with the latest -- Jonathan.

JONATHAN AIKEN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Donna, police are hoping that that one big clue could come by jogging the memories of D.C. cab drivers who may have been working on or around May 1. That's the last day that police have any clue as to Chandra Levy's whereabouts. Well, about a half dozen police officers and detectives met with a few dozen of city's 1600 some odd licensed cab drivers. The police telling them, they're hoping pick up any new threads of information that could shed light on Chandra Levy's movements or perhaps even add to their investigation.

LT. BRIAN MCALLISTER, D.C. METROPOLITAN POLICE: Because you guys see more and hear more than most other people. You're on street all the time. It's amazing what you guys know that nobody else knows. And you are very valuable intelligence resource base. And that's why we're stepping to you today.

What we're asking is any cab drivers who may have picked up Chandra Levy anywhere around May 1, a little bit before or even afterwards, to please talk to us.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

AIKEN: Police have already requested and received passenger logs from cab drivers who were working on those days and some individual cab drivers who working Levy's Dupont Circle neighborhood have also been interviewed.

There's another item to pass along, Donna. A spokeswoman for Vice President Dick Cheney tells CNN Cheney was in fact meeting with California Congressman Gary Condit at 12:30 in the afternoon on the day of May 1. That's a notable time in this investigation because 12:30 is about when police think Chandra Levy was wrapping up more than three hours of surfing the web in her apartment in Dupont Circle. No one is able to account for Chandra Levy's whereabouts after then.

And we need to stress, Donna, the usual caveat. D.C. police have repeatedly said and say again that Congressman Condit is not a suspect in Chandra Levy disappearance -- Donna.

KELLEY: OK, Jonathan Aiken reporting for us from Washington. Thank you.
