DONNA KELLEY, CNN ANCHOR: Well, after a couple of 16-ounce curls at the local pub, the last thing you want to do is play that sobriety guessing game in the parking lot or certainly on the road, where drinking can become dangerous. Reporter Sky Arnold has this report on a new product that tests your sobriety so that the local police don't have to.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

SKY ARNOLD, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Jason Yangling (ph) likes his beer.

JASON YANGLING: These are 23-ouncers.

ARNOLD: And that's why we thought he'd be the perfect person for a little drinking demonstration.

YANGLING: It's a tough job, but somebody has got to do it.

ARNOLD: That tough job has included two beers and a shot of tequila.

YANGLING: I feel OK.

ARNOLD: Is he? Well, let's check the breath stick. Look closely, and you'll see the crystals haven't changed color, so Jason should be sober. Let's try a police breathalyzer, just to be sure.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He's well under.

ARNOLD: Yes, the breath stick worked.

But what happens when Jason adds two more beers and another shot of tequila?

YANGLING: I feel like I could probably go drive.

ARNOLD: Once again, Jason blows into the stick. This time, the crystals have turned greenish-blue, and yes, that police breathalyzer confirms what everyone but Jason seems to notice..

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: OK. Looks like we have a winner here.

ARNOLD: He's legally plastered above the 0.08 limit, and definitely need a ride home.

YANGLING: I thought I was under the legal limit, and you blow into that thing, and then you realize, well, maybe I shouldn't be driving.
