KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: We begin with raging wildfires out west. The blaze that started a week ago near Jackson, Wyoming has spread to 4,800 acres. Two hundred homes, some of them million dollar estates are threatened. Firefighters say no homes have burnt yet but the flames are right up to some doorsteps. As the fires spread, many residents in Jackson and Wilson, Wyoming are bracing for the worst.

Reporter Field Mosley of our affiliate station KUT-TV has more.

FIELD MOSLEY, REPORTER, KUT-TV (voice-over): The wind changed through the afternoon, sending the fire in several directions, sometimes toward these houses, other times away from them.

KATHY WOOLFER, HOMEOWNER: It's very anxiety producing. We've been working to clear things for three or four days.

MOSLEY: Kathy Woofler hasn't been evacuated yet but she attended a public meeting with hundreds of her neighbors. Fire officials told them once again, the fire didn't take any homes, contrary to what they might have heard.

CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN, HOMEOWNER: If a message is given to you that does not have my name associated with it, that structures have burnt, then those are pure rumors.

MOSLEY: We first met Christian and Amy Andersen Friday. Like many people who live on this mountain, they aren't movie stars and don't have a million dollar home.

RANDY ROBERTS, HOMEOWNER: Well, it's particularly harmful to the community in fact, that we have an affordable housing shortage and then this fire happens to go through this particular subdivision.

Irreplaceable vinyl.

MOSLEY: Thursday, we were at the Roberts house as they evacuated. Now, the only sound there is is that of the sprinklers. Randy Roberts is a local elementary teacher and has been at this house for 25 years. And like a lot of other people, when he watches this fire, his emotions fluctuate between disbelieve and acceptance.

ROBERTS: The bottom line is my wife and I are together. We've got out pictures of our loved ones. That's all that matters. That's all metal and wood and replaceable.
