DONNA KELLEY, CNN ANCHOR: We've got some breaking news for you here. We want to show you some pictures of Chicago flooding. We don't know exactly where the area is. These pictures courtesy of WFLD.

But as you can well see, traffic is backed up, and must have been for some time, because there's people already out of their cars and kind of mulling around to see what's going on.

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Well, they're out because it's clear they can't move...

KELLEY: Right, but I mean...

HARRIS: Well, if the camera shot widens out, we'll be able to see the water, apparently it's so deep -- there you go, we have it in the -- can we move the banner? There you go. You see the water's so deep you can't even see the lines of the highway underneath it. It goes well up into the grass. So, this came out of nowhere.

And Chad Myers just now joining us here on the set...

KELLEY: Might mention, too, that Jeff Flock is going to join us in a few minutes -- our bureau chief in Chicago. So he'll be able to fill in some more details for us, just as you can, Chad.

CHAD MYERS, CNN METEOROLOGIST: Yes, we were happy that the rain was coming in, so it got rid of the heat. And then it -- all of a sudden it comes in so fast because there's so much humidity in the air. We've been talking about all this moisture in the air -- it just comes out in buckets.

And, obviously, wherever this was, the drain had garbage in it, leaves in it, whatever it might be, and the water didn't go down. So there you go. And that's going to happen all afternoon in that area, because there's heavy rainfall all through the Chicago area down into Gary.

HARRIS: All right, good deal. We'll get back to that a little bit later on.
