Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago Closed Because of Tanker Truck Accident

COLLEEN MCEDWARDS, CNN ANCHOR: We've got a little bit of breaking new to tell you about right here. We're going To Take you to a live picture in Chicago, the height of rush hour there, and there is trouble. The pictures you are looking at are courtesy of our affiliates WBBM. State police in Chicago say the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago is closed. It's going to be closed for a quite a while because of a tanker truck accident, according to the Department of Transportation there. There are no reports of injuries, so that's the good news, but traffic does look quite backed up. You'll see it in the wider shot here in just a moment.

Apparently this truck was carrying a volatile chemical, so officials are trying to be extra safe, keeping that freeway shutdown. Again, the pictures you are looking at are courtesy of WBBM. You could see a little bit earlier sort of a large cloud of white vapor over the area, people getting out, abandoning their cars, not sure what that substance was.

But again, you are looking at live pictures from Chicago, the Dan Ryan Expressway closed down in the height of rush hour because of a tanker truck accident. We will keep you up to date here on CNN/.
