Train Derailment in Utah

MILES O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: Paula, a little bit of Breaking News coming into us just now. An Amtrak train and a freight train have collided just within about 45 minutes, about an hour ago, in Utah, in western Utah, in Tooela County.

Tooela County Sheriff's office indicating that the collision occurred and that there were, according to our affiliate there, KSL, two to 300 passengers onboard that Amtrak train. There are reports, according to KSL, that at least one or two of those Amtrak cars is on fire. We are obviously trying to button this up, get some details for you as quickly as they become available.

Just to recap. At 7:15 eastern time, 5:15 local time, an Amtrak train and a freight train collided in western Utah, in Wendover, the county is Tooela County. The authorities there are responding to the scene there. Two to three hundred passengers onboard that Amtrak train. We are working diligently to get details for you as soon as they become available.
