KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: We go to David Haffenreffer in New York for a look at business once again -- hi, David.

DAVID HAFFENREFFER, CNN ANCHOR: Hi, Kyra. Hi, Leon.

Well, don't look for too many fireworks when trading begins in just over three hours' time on this Friday morning -- stock index futures pointing to a mixed to possibly weaker open for the financial markets today.

The markets could take their cue from Microsoft this morning. It was late yesterday, after the closing bell, that the company easily beat Wall Street's profit targets. Earnings fell 42 percent from the same time last year. Revenues grew by 6 percent, but Microsoft is waving a red flag, saying its numbers for the rest of the year will be weaker than expected due to a slump in demand for PCs.

This is one of Microsoft's most crucial quarters ever, with its latest Windows version, Windows XP, and its Xbox video game system, both due in stores. Microsoft shares are up more than 1 percent in premarket trading.

And that is a quick check of the business news on this Friday morning.
