LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Pakistan, it is an important player in this war on terrorism. It is the only country that still recognizes the Taliban rule in Afghanistan and Pakistani delegations have acted as go-betweens for the Taliban and the U.S.

Some U.S. forces are even using a Pakistani airbase near the border with Afghanistan. In an exclusive interview with CNN's Larry King, Pakistan's President General Pervez Musharraf talked about how long this operation might take.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GEN. PERVEZ MUSHARRAF, PRESIDENT OF PAKISTAN: The duration of the operation is dependent on achievement of objectives. So any military operation has to identify clearly what the military objectives are, and one has to achieve the objectives before (UNINTELLIGIBLE) bringing the operation to an end. But one does really wish and hope that the objectives are achieved and the military operation is short. That is what one would like to hope, and I again would like to say that we really hope, and one should attempt at achieving the military objectives as fast as possible so that that military operation comes to an end soon.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HARRIS: There's more where that came from. If you want to catch the full exclusive interview tonight at 9:00 Eastern, 6:00 Pacific on CNN's "LARRY KING LIVE" right here on CNN.
