MARTIN SAVIDGE, CNN ANCHOR: Just moments ago, CNN confirmed that Northern Alliance armored vehicles and tanks entered the city of Konduz. CNN's Satinder Bindra reports opposition fighters advanced into the last Taliban foothold in the north, following massive surrenders of Taliban fighters.

The opposition promised to take the city by force if all Taliban fighters did not surrender.
