BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: About 30 minutes ago we talked about the condition of Robert Tools in Louisville, Kentucky. He is the world's first recipient of a self-contained artificial heart. At the time, we said he had passed, however, Jewish Hospital in Louisville indicating now that he has had a severe setback and is not expected to recover.

Again, the prognosis not good for Mr. Tools in Louisville, Kentucky. Apparently, he suffered some internal breathing yesterday, at the age of 59, and then was induced in a multiple organ failure -- quickly after that. He received that heart back in July. At one point, his health was pretty good. He gained 10 pounds, but clearly, the news not good out of Louisville.

Again, the hospital saying Mr. Tools has suffered a severe setback and is not expected to recover. More developments, as we get them, out of Kentucky.
