BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Back to ground zero, Ariel Sharon now speaking with reporters live.

ARIEL SHARON, ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER: ... and all solidarity is you and the American people. I'm sure that if we work (ph), we will win. And let all of them rest in peace.

(SPEAKING IN HEBREW)

MYR. RUDY GIULIANI, NEW YORK CITY: Thank you, Mr. Sharon.

SHARON: I admire the way you conducted this (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

GIULIANI: We admire your people for the way in which they've had to deal with terrorism so long.

SHARON: Thank you.

GIULIANI: And having seen it firsthand, their bravery is an inspiration to us.

SHARON: Thanks for everything that you're doing.

GIULIANI: Thank you.

SHARON: And I must say that newly elected mayor will have a,. I would say, heavy challenges.

GIULIANI: He's a very good man, and he will do excellent job.

SHARON: All the best to you, and thank you so much, again.

QUESTION: Mr. prime minister, you said you are one of the view that can broker...

SHARON: Can you raise your voice at me. Can you raise your voice.

QUESTION: Yes, I'm sorry. Mr. Prime minister, you've said that your one of the few that can broker a deal... SHARON: We have to wait for -- Mr. Mayor we planted 5,000 trees in the memory -- that's the way how we do things. We plant trees. After we destroy, we plant. That's for you.

GIULIANI: Thank you very much.

SHARON: Thank you.

HEMMER: Others destroy, we plant, the words of Ariel Sharon, the Israeli prime minister, now taking questions there at ground zero. He's on a visit for this weekend. On Monday, he'll be at the White House in Washington to meet with President Bush. We'll monitor it for you.
