U.S. Service Person Killed in Afghanistan

JUDY WOODRUFF, CNN ANCHOR: Pentagon sources confirming to CNN that a U.S. service person has died as a result of hostile fire in Afghanistan. We don't know much more -- in fact, we don't know any more than that. We don't know what branch of the service the individual is in; we don't know where it happened.

We do expect, though, to get a little more information just about 20 minutes from now when the Central Command -- chief of the Central Command General Tommy Franks briefs reporters at 1:30 Eastern Time in Tampa, Florida.

And repeating that information: The Pentagon confirming that a U.S. service person has died -- has been killed as a result of hostile fire in Afghanistan. We'll bring you more information just as soon as we get it.
