DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: We have some breaking, new developments on the status of "Wall Street Journal" reporter Daniel Pearl who was kidnapped a week ago in Pakistan. CNN has obtained new pictures and new e-mail from the kidnappers of Daniel Pearl. As we show you the new pictures as they come in, I am going to read to you from the e- mail that the kidnappers have sent along.

It reads in part: "We have interrogated Mr. D. Pearl, and have come to the conclusion that contrary to what we thought earlier, he is not working for the CIA. In fact, he is working for Mossad. Therefore, we will execute him within 24 hours unless America fills our demands."

It also reads -- I'm going to skill to another part of it: "We warn all American journalists working in Pakistan that there are many in their ranks spying on Pakistan under the journalist cover. Therefore, we give all American journalists three days to get out of Pakistan. Anyone remaining after will be targeted."

A very serious e-mail indeed. Once again, Daniel Pearl taken a week ago while he was in the city of Karachi, Pakistan. He was investigating a story on an Islamic fundamentalist group, and apparently the Pakistani government has gone and arrested the leader of that group. It was considered a break in the case, and yet still no sign of the exact whereabouts of Daniel Pearl.

Once again, these are new pictures coming in that we have shown you, and new e-mail. We will share more of that e-mail with you in a bit.
