PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: Welcome back at just about six minutes before the hour. On the "Funny Side Up" this morning New York's Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Well last night David Letterman asked the mayor how he would improve the city. The improvements came in the form of his top 10 list. Here are a few of Mayor Bloomberg's ideas.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DAVID LETTERMAN, HOST: Number eight.

MICHAEL BLOOMBERG, MAYOR OF NEW YORK: Once a week a different New Yorker has to mow Central Park.

LETTERMAN: Number five.

BLOOMBERG: Free full body massage from your cabbie.

LETTERMAN: Yeah. Number four.

BLOOMBERG: I'm renaming the city "Funky Town."

LETTERMAN: Yeah. Number three.

BLOOMBERG: Mandatory 10:00 curfew for Bill Clinton.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

ZAHN: And the list went on and on. Jack, you have a favorite there of the ones we weren't able to play?

JACK CAFFERTY, CNN ANCHOR: He said OK, Arizona you've had your fun, now we're coming to get our World Series trophy, reference to the Diamondbacks beating the Yankees there in game seven last year. So ...

ZAHN: Interesting timing for the mayor to come out and poke fun at himself.

CAFFERTY: Well he wanted to let everybody know he was back in New York where he's supposed to be working as the mayor instead of down in Bermuda where he's been lying on the beach without telling anybody he was gone.

ZAHN: Which begs the question, are we entitled to know where he disappears for, for two or three days when he's on a beeper, and could come back ...

(CROSSTALK)

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: That was the question - was he on a beeper? I mean I think there was some question as to whether or not he was even reachable.

CAFFERTY: John Lindsey (ph) lost the mayor's office because he was in the Caribbean when it snowed one winter in Queens and they couldn't get the streets plowed.

ZAHN: Bad timing.

CAFFERTY: And that was the end of his political career. He was very out of office and they claim that that was the reason.

ZAHN: Well at least this mayor was astute enough to leave during sort of the spring-like fawn (ph) ...

(CROSSTALK)

ZAHN: ... our city.

CAFFERTY: That's right.
