FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: Well, it wasn't long ago when we saw Daryn Kagan out in California, and she was un-made-up, only to get made-up in time for the Oscars this weekend, and Daryn is out there now, at L'Ermitage, is it called -- at Beverly Hills -- Daryn.
DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: We have been busy, Fredricka, as you can tell...
(CROSSTALK)
WHITFIELD: You look great.
KAGAN: L'Ermitage Hotel -- well, thank you. They had a lot of work to do. Let's show before and after, so we can show people, as if America didn't have a good enough look at me with no makeup or anything on about an hour ago. So -- before and after. Let's talk with Maria Magdalena who has this makeup line that is on my face...
WHITFIELD: And on your neck.
KAGAN: Not just makeup, gems encrusted -- yeah, we will get to that in a second. What is on my face?
WHITFIELD: Interesting hickey.
KAGAN: I have actual jewels on my face.
MARIA MAGDALENA, COSMETICS DESIGNER: Yes. So, in your foundation, there's fresh water pearls.
KAGAN: Pearls on my face.
MAGDALENA: Crushed fresh water pearls, and on your eyes, there's amethyst and diamonds, and on your lips, there's ruby and diamonds.
KAGAN: And this lipstick, you said, doesn't come off. I mean, it will eventually come off, but as you're at the Oscars and you are seeing all of these fabulous people, and giving the kisses -- hello, hello...
MAGDALENA: It's party proof.
KAGAN: So, if Denzel Washington comes across at the Oscars, and he gives me a kiss hello, I don't need to worry about my lipstick coming off?
MAGDALENA: No. It is totally party proof.
KAGAN: Such a relief. Maria Magdalena, thank you so much for the makeup and for cleaning me up. America thanks you.
Now, this outfit -- this is one of the three outfits I will be able to try on throughout the day. This is by Joanna Mastroianni, and she is in another suite here. We'll be visiting with her in a little bit, but, of course, Fredricka, you know every great outfit needs a great handbag.
WHITFIELD: That's right, because you have got to carry your lipstick. It is all about the lipstick, you know.
KAGAN: Absolutely. The lipstick, and maybe a little brush for your hair. Well, we have some very creative handbags. You know how you are shopping, and sometimes you think, well, I like this bag, but I wish it was a different color, or I wish it had maybe some gems on it. This is not a problem. Look what we have going on here. We have painters brought in and gemmers -- they're called stoners? They are called stoners, but that's a good thing, because they're stoning the bags, and we will be looking at these bags, these very creative handbags coming up in just about 30 minutes, so we will get the bag to go with the outfit -- back to you.
WHITFIELD: Oh, I like that. And we are going to be seeing more on the outfits too, right?
KAGAN: OK.
WHITFIELD: All right, thanks a lot.
KAGAN: I have two other dresses picked out.
WHITFIELD: Oh, good. I can't wait to see them. Thanks a lot, Daryn. See you in a bit.
KAGAN: OK.
