LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: But we will have something for you right now on how to find our Richard Quest, our quest to find this crazy guy. You might call it the ultimate houseboat. It's redefining the concept of a waterfront home. Luxury apartments on a cruise ship are up for sale right now. Our Richard Quest is live in Hamburg, Germany, where the ship has just docked.

How long have you been (UNINTELLIGIBLE) on the ground -- Richard.

RICHARD QUEST, CNN CORRESPONDENT: It's commodore Quest, you able seaman, Harris. Now I have been on board this -- please, I have got me blazer on, can't you see? You don't get this sort of thing for nothing. Yes, indeed, you've got dress posh if you are on this particular ship. And don't call it a boat -- not if you don't want to get thrown off overboard.

This is the World, 110 private apartments on board this luxury liner.

Let's take a closer look, and I will show you what some of them look like from the outside. Those major balconies, they are part of the private homes that people have paid up to $6 million for. What they are getting for that is basically the right to live onboard this ship 365 days of the year.

Now, the ship will travel the globe. In the next 12 months alone, it will visit 250 ports. But you know, Leon, even if you manage to scrape together the cheapest apartment, $2.3 million, you will still have to pay your annual maintenance charge -- and wait for it -- that's $100,000. So for the likes of you and me, we are at that little bit at the bottom that you can't see, where the portholes are -- Leon.

HARRIS: One hundred thousand dollars in maintenance fees in addition to the $2 million? What is the difference, though, Richard between a $2 million apartment here and a $6 million apartment? Did you get a chance to look inside and see them?

QUEST: Well, of course I've been inside to see. Do you think I would get board there and not have a peek under the sheets. Absolutely. You are basically talking about something that is a difference in size: number of bedrooms, do you want a dining area how many bathrooms. And best of all -- you can't see from here, but take my word for it -- the really expensive ones are at the back of the ship, and they are the ones that have the major balconies.

But Leon, before I leave you, I've just got a little something for you, because I know that a man of taste, distinction, quality like yourself -- this is the nearest you and I are ever going to get -- here is your own pair of the World slippers for to you wear while anchoring the show.

HARRIS: You know what, I may take you up on that --although the guy you looked at under the sheets may want them back at some point.

DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Absolutely.

HARRIS: Way to go, Richard.

KAGAN: Do you get to get back on the boat -- Richard.

HARRIS: How are you getting back home, Richard? Do you get to go home on the boat?

QUEST: I am going back on the boat to have dinner, and believe me, it'll be a jolly sight more tasty than what you are going to eat.

KAGAN: No comparison there.

HARRIS: You have seen the cafeteria here. Interesting. Good deal.

KAGAN: Safe travels.

HARRIS: Nice going, Richard. You have managed to make us jealous once again.

KAGAN: Enjoy. Very good, safe travels, Richard Quest.
