CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Hey, we have breaking news to tell you about out of Israel, out of Bethlehem this morning. I'm going to turn and look at my computer right now because we're just getting the information in.

It says the Israeli military blew the south door off the Church of the Nativity but had not entered the building. And that's according to the head of the Antonius Society of Bethlehem, and he spoke to CNN from the church so he knows what he's talking about. The Israeli Foreign Ministry denied any military action at the location. Of course the church has been the site of a standoff between Israel Defense Forces and several hundred Palestinians who sought refuge there. In fact, 200 men, women and children are apparently inside, along with priests and nuns. That's the Church of the Nativity where Jesus was born. And we understand that the south door has been blown off of that church.

We're trying to get more information for you, and we'll have that as soon as we get it in.
