DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Let's get back to this church scandal story and go to Boston, where there have been calls for Cardinal Law's resignation over his role in the priest scandal. There is reaction to the meeting of the cardinals, and our Jason Carroll is in Boston. Jason, what kind of reaction are you hearing?

JASON CARROLL, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, it's coming in, I can tell you that. I've got to tell that you many people here in Boston are watching and waiting to see exactly what will come out of those Vatican meetings.

As you said earlier, Cardinal Law has been under fire here in Boston for his handling of this crisis. This morning, we spoke to an attorney whose firm represents some 180 people who say they were molested by priests in the Boston area. Attorney Robert Sherman says he is heartened by what he heard coming out of the Vatican this morning, but he still wants to see a lot more.

BOB SHERMAN, ATTY. FOR ALLEGED VICTIMS: I think certainly that this is an encouraging first sign, but we have heard words of encouragement in the past. The proof is really going to be what the action plan is and the proof is going to be whether there are people involved who can lead the church through this crisis in a way that will assure victims that their issues are being addressed and assure parents that their children will never be in harm's way.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

CARROLL: Sherman says that the cardinals should not only be meeting with each other he says in order for there to be real change, these cardinals need to meet with the victims as well in order to come up with some sort of national policy in dealing with this crisis -- Daryn.

KAGAN: Jason Carroll in Boston -- thank you so much.
