BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: In a galaxy not too far away, a Star Wars convention is now underway, part of the growing anticipation for the next Star Wars installment. "Episode Two: Attack of the Clones" set to premier in mid-May, the 16th in fact. From Indy now, here is Keith Oppenheim at that convention tracking things for us. Hey, Keith, good afternoon. How goes it?

KEITH OPPENHEIM, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Oh, it's been quite busy here, Bill. You know, I should give you some quick history. Three years ago, there was the first officially sanctioned by Lucasfilm convention, and it took place in Denver. It was a relatively small fan convention for Star Wars, but it reminded the movie makers of this extremely dedicated fan base.

Now, just before the release of "Attack of the Clones," you have what's called Star Wars Celebration II and the fans that are coming to this thing are coming from all over the map. It is expected that about 22,000 fans will come to the Indiana Convention Center this weekend. They have been lining up in the morning. A lot of them are paying a good $75 a ticket for a three-day pass.

And when they come inside, they can buy all kinds of things. They can either go with the low-end stuff, or they can go up to $7,000 for a Darth Vader costume. It's just a wide range of stuff, which includes events, music, film clips, a lot of fan created stuff like fan-made movies.

And there's also, of course, celebrities. I'm going to introduce you now to a young celebrity, who I get the chance to meet. This is Daniel Logan. He is from Auckland, New Zealand. And you play Boba Fett, the young Boba Fett, in "Attack of the Clones."

Can you explain for our viewers, who is Boba Fett? Who is the character, and what is all this business with bounty hunting?

DANIEL LOGAN, ACTOR: Well, Boba Fett is named the most notorious giganta (ph) in the whole of the galaxy. And if you ask all the fans here, I bet you they will say the same.

OPPENHEIM: And you get to play the young version of Boba.

LOGAN: Yes. You know, I get to do a few cool things. I get to fire a few guns, try to kill some Jedis. But, basically, all of the years as a person who is mixed up, you know. He sees something, but you're going to have to see in the movie, you know. And I think that is what turns him to the dark side.

OPPENHEIM: His father is Jango Fett, right? And Jango Fett was already on the dark side?

LOGAN: Right, yes.

OPPENHEIM: There's a little problem in the family to begin with, wasn't there?

(LAUGHTER)

LOGAN: Well, you could say that. He obeys his father, he loves his father and always did for his father. He's always by his side. So once something happens in the movie, which you'll see in about two week's time, you'll see how Boba Fett turned.

OPPENHEIM: Let me ask you, what was it like to be in a movie like this? This is such a huge film, not just in the United States, here, but all over the globe, that to get an opportunity like this, for any actor -- particularly you, you're 14 going on 15 -- what's it like to be in this film?

LOGAN: Well, it's amazing, because I come from (UNINTELLIGIBLE) New Zealand, all right. In New Zealand, we don't really get to go into big Hollywood movies like this. And you know, as I was saying, in New Zealand, people like me and Timothy (ph) Morrisson (ph), you know, we're making New Zealand big for us, you know. So that makes us feel proud, that "Star Wars" came to New Zealand just to, you know, audition us, and we're fortunate to get the part.

OPPENHEIM: Congratulations on the movie which, as Daniel Logan mentioned, will debut in just about two weeks. And as you can see, there are a lot of people here, excited to meet him and, of course, see the flick.

Bill, back to you.

HEMMER: Thirteen days and counting. Thanks, Keith. Enjoy the convention there.

OPPENHEIM: Thanks a lot.

HEMMER: In Indianapolis, Keith Oppenheim, many thanks.
