JONATHAN KARL, CNN ANCHOR: Boston's Cardinal Bernard Law continues his work at the church on the eve of yet another deposition in the ongoing priest sex scandal.

CNN's Jason Carroll joins us live now from Boston with the latest. Jason?

JASON CARROLL, CNN CORRESPONDENT: And good morning to you, Jonathan.

Mass has gotten under way at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. If you take a look behind me, you can see a small number of protesters have gathered in front of the cathedral. They do this every weekend. Some of them are out here because they wait to see if Cardinal Law will say anything at all about the priest scandal during mass. He's done that for the past two weeks.

So far, as best we can tell, Cardinal Law has not said anything at all about the priest scandal this morning, focusing his attention and his prayers on Mother's Day.

A lot of us were out here waiting to see if he would say anything at all about what happened to him last week when he was deposed in a civil suit involving defrocked priest John Geoghan. It was the first time Cardinal Law has had to answer questions under oath about the priest scandal.

The plaintiffs in the case say that the Cardinal Law failed to protect them from Geoghan. During the first day of the deposition, Cardinal Law said he could not remember particular details about allegations surrounding Geoghan. That was revealed in the transcripts that were released.

But on the second day of the deposition, that was on Friday, the judge in the case, Constance Sweeney, she blocked the release of the transcripts, and that's because attorneys representing Cardinal Law said that they needed time to review the transcripts before they were released to the public. They have 30 days to do that. So it's going to be a while before we get the details surrounding what happened on the second day of the depositions.

Again, mass is still taking place right now at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. We're standing by waiting to see if Cardinal Law ends up saying anything at all about the priest scandal. He'll be back for a deposition tomorrow -- Jonathan.

KARL: All right, Jason, I know you'll keep us posted if he does mention that during his mass. Thank you very much for that report.
