FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: In Washington, the probe continues into the mystery of Chandra Levy. Her family remains in seclusion at their home. Our Gary Tuchman is outside the Levy's home in Modesto -- Gary.

GARY TUCHMAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Fredricka, it's now been almost two full days since Robert and Susan Levy found out the remains of their daughter had been found. They, along with their son, Adam, Chandra's brother, haven't left their house since.

Friends and family members have come in to offer their comfort, to offer respect. Bouquets of flowers have arrive, including a bouquet just a short time ago. But there have been absolutely no sightings of the Levys themselves.

We are told they are in very deep grief right now. There are many of us who might think that, at least they know what happened now. That is no way their frame of mind. We are told by family members, these two days have been the absolute worst two days for them since last April 30th. They still had hope. They still thought it was a possibility she would be found and maybe she had amnesia, maybe she ran away. And now reality has struck, that their daughter is dead.

Mrs. Levy right now is waiting for her mother, who lives in south Florida, to fly here from Florida. She's expected to arrive this afternoon. And we are told the Levys have no planes to talk to the public and members of the news media until at least Mrs. Levy talks to her own mother, face-to-face.

Two-thousand, three-hundred sixty miles from here, in Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C., the investigators continues. Authorities continue to scour the area where the skeletal remains were found. We are not expecting to find out anything more about the cause of death until early next week.

We are told that authorities want to interview a convict in a North Carolina prison. His name is Ingmar Guandeque. He was arrested and convicted on charges in two different assault cases in the same park in the same area where Chandra Levy's body was found. There is absolutely no connection between him and the Chandra Levy case yet, but authorities do want to question him about it.

Now, back here on this block in Modesto, the neighbors here have been very supportive of the Levy family throughout this entire episode, since April 30th. They put yellow ribbons up on all their mailboxes. And we find it's very notable that right now, despite the fact that Chandra Levy's body has been found and that part of the mystery is over, the yellow ribbons still remain on most of the mailboxes in this neighborhood.

Fredricka, back to you.

WHITFIELD: And, Gary, later on this week the family, or at least some neighbors, will be holding a ceremony in memory of Chandra Levy?

TUCHMAN: Yes, as a matter of fact, Fredricka, it's going to be a public memorial service. It's going to take place this Tuesday in downtown Modesto. And they're expecting the possibility of several thousand people attending the memorial service.

WHITFIELD: All right, Gary Tuchman from Modesto, California. Thank you very much.
