DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Let's bring you the latest this hour on the Skakel verdict. It is more than 26 years after Martha Moxley was beaten to death outside her home in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Our Deborah Feyerick has been following the story, the trial, and now the verdict. And she joins us from Norwalk, Connecticut.

Deb, hello once again.

DEBORAH FEYERICK, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hey there, Daryn.

Well, Michael Skakel was taken away in a van just a few moments ago. He's being taken to the Bridgeport Correctional Center where he will wait until his sentencing on July 19.

The range of his sentencing goes anywhere from 10 years -- a minimum of 10 years to a max 25 years to life. And that is what is facing him as his lawyer quickly tries to appeal.

His lawyer spoke at the podium earlier today.

MICKEY SHERMAN, SKAKEL ATTORNEY: This is not over. I'm not bitter, I'm determined. I believe in Michael Skakel. I believe Michael Skakel. Like I said earlier, he didn't do it. He doesn't have a clue who did. He wasn't there. He never confessed.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

FEYERICK: The Moxley family really felt strongly all along, once all the other suspects were ruled out, they said that there really couldn't be anybody else but Michael. All the pieces of the puzzle seemed to fit, even though he was not considered a suspect for more than 15 years after the murder. It was always his older brother Tommy, or a tutor who was living at the house.

So Daryn, because there's breaking news we're going to toss back to you. Go ahead.

KAGAN: Yes, I'm sure we'll be checking back with you, Deb. But right now we want to go out to Utah.
