KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Anticipation is building in Ireland for this week's big event, the wedding of ex-Beatle Paul McCartney to former model Heather Mills. Details of the wedding have been shrouded in secrecy, but it's expected to take place at the Irish border village of Glaslough. CNN's Richard Quest is there.

RICHARD QUEST, CNN CORRESPONDENT (on camera): Helicopters overhead, more attempts to find any details about the forthcoming wedding of Sir Paul McCartney to Heather Mills.

All we know for certain is that a major event will take place here at Castle Leslie, but just about everyone is expecting the wedding to take place on Tuesday seems the most likely date. Marquises have been built, one is even said to be floating on the lake. The flowers have arrived, the food has been brought in. Security, not surprisingly, extremely tight.

The total cost of this wedding, bearing in mind the enormous security that is now in place, is said to be about 3.5 million euros, $3.3 million. A lot of that money will go to bring the 300 guests to Ireland. The guests have just been told to turn up at London's Heathrow Airport with their passports. The only promise being, they'll be returned the next day.

Which artists, which famous pop stars will perform, the nature of the ceremony, no one knows, it's just speculation at the moment. But that a big event is going to take place is without doubt.

And the reason why Paul McCartney and Heather Mills chose this particular place to have their wedding ceremony -- Paul McCartney proposed here to Heather Mills.

Richard Quest, CNN, Glaslough, Ireland.
