KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: All right, we're talking about Ireland, all right? And CNN's irrepressible Richard Quest -- you know we all love Richard -- he's at the Castle Leslie in Ireland on the eve of a wedding it seems the world wants to attend. He's actually in the pouring rain, Chad.

CHAD MYERS, CNN METEOROLOGIST: I hear.

PHILLIPS: But we want to get all the scoop, as he continues to drench himself, about this big talk about this big wedding -- hi, Richard.

RICHARD QUEST, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Oh good morning to you, Kyra. I noticed you didn't give that weather forecast for Glaslough in Ireland.

MYERS: No, it's raining.

QUEST: I can tell you what the weather is. It's absolutely teaming. I mean, it's bucketing it down, cats and dogs. You name it, it's coming down on top of us.

PHILLIPS: Yes, help him out. Help the poor guy out.

QUEST: But we're all getting ready.

MYERS: I know. Every live shot we've had today has been like inclement weather. We were at a live shot for the World Cup out of Korea and it was just pouring like this. Maybe it's just all over the world. It's raining everywhere except North America.

QUEST: That makes me feel a great deal better. I can tell you that.

Let me tell you what we know about what's happening here. The people here -- it's a very small village, Glaslough, and the town next to it, Monaghan. Again, both very small towns. So the fact that Sir Paul McCartney -- I've got to be careful here. I'll tell you, they take absolutely no prisoners. That's another suit that's going to the dry cleaners.

They take their prisoners when they drive out at great speed. And -- where was I? Oh yes, I was talking about the small town of Glaslough and Monaghan, where they will -- I mean, these measurably small places, where the fact that Paul McCartney has decided to get married here is the biggest news that's happened. So it's not surprising.

When I actually found a dry five minutes, which was few and far between (UNINTELLIGIBLE), I actually went down and spoke to some of the people. I asked them what they made of the fact that the wedding of the year was happening in their neck of the woods.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Of course, brilliant for Monaghan. It really is. Monaghan needs that (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I think it's great, but we'll not be allowed in to see him.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Not see him?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We won't see them.

QUEST: Would you like to?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I would love to, love to. But we'll not get near them (ph).

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Especially (UNINTELLIGIBLE) Paul McCartney is famous, isn't he? A millionaire, what else?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It's great, opens tourism today (ph), (UNINTELLIGIBLE). The more the merrier.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

QUEST: Now it's true to be said that most of the areas won't actually make much money out of it because all the flowers and the food, that was all imported from England and from Holland. And large amounts of equipment have come in from London.

But what they are hoping is that over the months and years, pretty much like happened with Madonna and her wedding in Scotland, so it creates an environment where more people would want to get married. For example, Pierce Brosnan got married at a castle in Ireland. More people will decide that they want to do it. Maybe not on the $3 million scale that happens with the McCartney wedding -- Kyra.

PHILLIPS: All right, Richard. Chad and I both want to see the digs where you're staying. We heard they're pretty high class on that CNN budget.

QUEST: Yes, well let me tell you, there wasn't a bed and breakfast, there wasn't a bed for 20 miles around until we found this place. Just eat your heart out. Let's just hope the chief financial officer of AOL Time Warner, parent company of this network, isn't watching, because you'll wonder how much he's playing for this place. Absolutely gorgeous -- Hilton Park. My bedroom has a four-poster bed, although I'm not sure that they're not storing the solid fuel for the heating system under the mattress, it's so lumpy. The bathrooms are nice. No showers, but the accommodations are very palatial. And the family that's owned it since the 17th century, they actually cook your breakfast.

MYERS: Wow.

PHILLIPS: Oh my gosh, royal treatment, no doubt. Richard Quest, thank you.

MYERS: Without a bathroom. You don't need one. You've got a shower right there.

PHILLIPS: Drop your clothes, Richard.

MYERS: Oh no, this isn't naked news. It's been done.

PHILLIPS: Oh yes, really. (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

MYERS: Take care, man. Stay dry.
