CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Sir Paul McCartney is just hours away from the altar. The former Beatle is marrying ex-model Heather Mills today in what he says will be a private family affair. The ceremony is being held at an Irish castle in Glaslough, and that's where we find CNN nuptial news correspondent Richard Quest.

Take it away.

RICHARD QUEST, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Do you mind? It's chief nuptials correspondent, please. Let's get these things right, Carol.

Now, we're going to be talking about -- and this is just your average everyday ordinary wedding, 300 guests, $3.2 million, in a castle, with a chartered plane bringing people from all over Europe. At least that's what I think it is.

Let's talk to Roisin Ingle of the "Irish Times" -- good morning to you.

ROISIN INGLE, "IRISH TIMES": Hi. How are you?

QUEST: Well, I'm right. It is just your normal...

INGLE: Normal wedding. Like a Liverpool wedding, there will be beer on the piano, (UNINTELLIGIBLE) champagne on the grand pianos and that kind of thing. But, yes, they want to have a quiet family affair and it's just going to be pretty simple I think.

QUEST: It's absolutely huge for this area, though, isn't it?

INGLE: It is, it's massive. I mean, you can see the people are already arriving to see if they can catch a glimpse of any celebrities. I'm not sure if they're here to see you, though, or McCartney, because -- but anyway.

QUEST: Maybe it's you. Look, what other celebrities -- I mean, I've heard just about every name mentioned.

INGLE: I know. I think people are just taking their pick randomly.

QUEST: Who's going to be here?

INGLE: Well I think Elton John, definitely, and obviously Ringo Starr. And I heard something about the All Saints, you know, the English pop band. And other than that, it's take your pick, really. You can say any name and it's all speculation.

QUEST: Stella McCartney, now there were rumors of a bit of a rift in the family. She wasn't asked to design the dress. That's Avis and Brown (ph) designers in London.

INGLE: Yes. I think Heather had something to do with it as well, didn't she? She's very involved in the design.

QUEST: But do we know -- I mean, Stella is obviously here now and all the rest of the family is here.

INGLE: Yes. I mean, I think whatever rift there is, the family are rallying around. Last night, they had some kind of a party, a dinner party together. And there's lots of the family staying in a hotel up the road there in Monaghan. So it seems to be that everyone is coming together for this, yes.

QUEST: What are people saying, Roisin? What are people saying here about this? Because let's face it, Glaslough, certainly, and probably Monaghan, which isn't that much bigger...

INGLE: Yeah, I mean, the place -- this general area, this county hasn't had the best publicity because it's in a border area, and during the troubles this would have been -- there would have been a lot of roads sealed off. So it's great. It's something positive for the county that everyone's really getting involved in.

But the big thing really here today is the Ireland Saudi Arabia match.

QUEST: And the World Cup.

INGLE: Yes.

QUEST: For our U.S. viewers that may be not so familiar, that is soccer to you.

INGLE: Yes. But they're quite good at it now. They've actually done quite well.

QUEST: You've been listening too much to Carol and co. trying to sort of make it out (UNINTELLIGIBLE). They're not going to go any further.

INGLE: But this is a crucial match for us today.

QUEST: Right.

INGLE: And I think there's going to be a lot more eyes on the teles (ph) than there will be on (UNINTELLIGIBLE) when it starts.

QUEST: Roisin, many thanks indeed.

INGLE: OK. QUEST: Carol, before we go, yesterday I was talking a great deal about the weather and how awful it was. So as a new style fashion, I want to show you this is what the well-dressed correspondent is wearing when covering weddings in Ireland.

COSTELLO: I was just getting a load of your microphone. That is some microphone, Richard.

QUEST: It doesn't bite and we feed it regularly.

COSTELLO: OK, Richard -- thanks. As always, you're a lot of fun. We're going to get back to you a little later on, on CNN. Thank you.
