CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: A few nervy Enron women are shredding their clothes and showing off their bottom lines in the new issue of "Playboy." Here's CNN's Jeanne Moos.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JEANNE MOOS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Maybe some day these women of Enron will want to shred this issue of "Playboy," but for now, the naked truth is, they're having a ball. Posing for photographers ...

(on camera): Say "scandal."

(voice-over): ... watching themselves on TV shows like "Entertainment Tonight." They have literally been running from studio to studio, from "The Today Show," to "Good Morning America," to doing the local weather.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: It is 29.82 barometer, whatever the heck that means.

MOOS: When Carey Lorenzo worked for Enron ...

CAREY LORENZO, FORMER ENRON EMPLOYEE: I sold deregulation of electricity.

MOOS: Now she's generating electricity, accommodating the whims of TV producers.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALES: Hi, E!, we're the "Playboy" women of Enron.

MOOS: Over and over until they get it right.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALES: Hi, E!, we're the "Playboy" women of Enron.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Oh, the girls from Enron?

MOOS: He must not recognize them in their clothes, perched atop the bull near Wall Street.

Now they're covering up. That's not what they did in the "Playboy" spread.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Well, spread is the operative word there, isn't it?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Right here, that's me.

MOOS (on camera): This is you?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes.

MOOS: Holy smokes!

(voice-over): These three women of Enron no longer work there. They make no bones about enjoying their instant fame.

CYNTHIA COGLAN, FORMER ENRON EMPLOYEE: Turning our 15 minutes into a half-an-hour.

MOOS: Rising at 3:00 a.m. for hair and makeup to make the rounds of the morning shows, they've each perfected the hair toss.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Now toss it.

MOOS: Strangers until now, they groom each other like monkeys as they waited to appear on the "Connie Chung Tonight" show.

CONNIE CHUNG: Oh, my goodness.

MOOS: The fire alarm went off in the studio.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Just hold one second.

MOOS: And when it was their turn on the set...

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I was just thankful.

CHUNG: There it goes again. Let's listen to it.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Please, may I have your attention? We have received an alarm...

MOOS: Afterward, the women of Enron posed with Connie, and later laughed off the fire alarm.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Look at these women, they're hot.

MOOS: Hot enough that guys stood in line, actually most read in line, waiting to have their copies of "Playboy" autographed.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: For my friend in the hospital, and one for myself, of course. I think this is the cure he needs.

MOOS: "Playboy" hit the bulls-eye in terms of publicity. But the forecast for the future for the women of Enron remains unclear.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Clouds and pointy things.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Clouds and pointy things, what a combination there. MOOS: Jeanne Moos, CNN, New York.
