CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Brazil is basking in World Cup glory. Their soccer team has taken the title for a record fifth time after beating Germany last night.

CNN "Sports Illustrated" reported Pedro Pinto has highlights for you.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

PEDRO PINTO, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): The atmosphere was electric at Yokohama Stadium on Sunday night to greet the two most successful teams in World Cup history, Brazil and Germany.

(on camera): After a scoreless first half, the game came to life in the second. In the 67th minute, Ronaldo opens the scoring, after Oliver Kahn had failed to hold Rivaldo's shot, Ronaldo celebrating his seventh goal of the tournament.

(voice-over): The end turnaround striker wasn't done yet. In the 79th, Ronaldo this time gets a dummy from Rivaldo, freeing him up from the defender, and then tucks it in past Kahn for his eighth of the World Cup. Brazil would hold onto that two goal lead and they would go on to celebrate their fifth World Cup title, first since 1994.

After the match, Brazilian fans were ecstatic with their team's performance and their victory, while German fans were disappointed by their team's effort in the final.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Oh, it's a dream, a dream come true for Brazil. It's very, very, very, everybody's very, very happy. It's a great time to Brazilians. Everybody don't, we can't believe it now.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Germany played better than I thought. We deserve to win but this just shows that we will win four years from now.

PINTO (on camera): So Brazil can once again boast to be the best soccer playing nation in the world after a traumatic experience in France 1998 for both Ronaldo and the Samba Kings. They are once again back.

Outside Yokohama Stadium in Japan, I'm Pedro Pinto.
