DEMONSTRATORS: No justice, no peace! No justice, no peace!

JAY JACKSON (ph), CNN AFFILIATE KCAL REPORTER (voice-over): Anger at the Inglewood City Hall, anger sparked by the videotaped beating of 16-year-old Donavan Jackson at the hands of Inglewood police on Saturday. The department already suspended officer Jeremy Morse, the officer seen slamming Donovan into the squad car, then punching him in the face. But protesters say suspension isn't enough.

VICKY LINDSEY, PROTESTER: If he can't be charged for anything else but child abuse to put him in jail now, that's what we need to do. Charge him for child abuse now!

JACKSON: Back at city hall, where protesters stormed the city council and mayor's office, Mayor Roosevelt Dorn, a former prosecutor and federal judge, spoke publicly for the first time about the beating.

MAYOR ROOSEVELT DORN, INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Based upon my background, my training, my experience, there isn't any question in my mind, and I recommend and refer to the district attorney's office the fact that what I saw was No. 1, felony assault, No. 2, an assault with a deadly weapon -- the car being the deadly weapon -- and No.3, battery. Now, that's what I saw.
