KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: The off-court fate of Philadelphia 76er Allen Iverson is in the hands of the District Attorney now. Police investigators have asked the D.A. to consider charges against Iverson for an incident last week. Charles Jones says Iverson and another man showed up at his apartment and threatened him with a gun.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

QUESTION: Did you think he'd use that gun?

CHARLES JONES, COMPLAINANT: Right now, I'm not going to say.

QUESTION: Are you sure it was a gun?

JONES: Yes, I'm positive it was.

QUESTION: Can you describe the gun for us, color?

JONES: It was black.

All I can say is what's wrong is wrong and what's right is right, and everybody should be held accountable for their actions. Nobody should be excluded for anything they do because of who they are.

PHILLIPS: It's not clear whether the D.A. will pursue charges against the basketball star.

We're going to go to Bob Franken now. He's live in Philadelphia. He's following this story -- Bob, who is Charles Jones?

BOB FRANKEN, CNN NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: Charles Jones is the roommate of the cousin of Allen Iverson. Iverson was looking for his cousin, Shaun Bowman and his wife when he came to the apartment and accused -- the accusation is that Iverson, while not brandishing his gun, threatened to use it, and the police have become convinced that the charges are so.

Those police officers about a half hour ago came to this building. This is the District Attorney's Office. The D.A. Lynne Abraham will hear their presentment. Then she will make a decision, we're told, by the end of the day, whether to, in fact, file charges. The charges could include aggravated assault. It could include felonious threats, they call it in this state "terrorist threats," although it has nothing to do with terrorism in the sense that we've been reporting it. Or, she could decide to do nothing, or she could decide to do other charges.

We're told that Iverson is somewhere in the city. Neither he nor his attorney has been available for comment. The Philadelphia 76ers, for whom Iverson stars, put out a statement, which included the words: "We will continue to support Allen while we await the outcome of these proceedings."

Now, Iverson has had, of course, a glorious basketball career, but he's also had various runs in with the law, including a confrontation in a bowling alley when he was in high school, which resulted in a little bit of jail time served before he finally received a pardon from the governor of Virginia, which is his home state.

But now, this is a new situation. The police officers are inside now talking to the District Attorney who will have to decide whether this one proceeds -- Kyra.

PHILLIPS: All right, Bob Franken, we'll continue to follow it. We'll check in with you as soon as something happens. Thanks, Bob.
