DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: The FBI is warning about a possible attack today on an oil refinery here in the U.S.

Our Justice correspondent Kelli Arena is working the story and telling us about the specific intelligence that came in and where it might apply.

Kelli, good morning.

KELLI ARENA, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Daryn.

We had some specific information coming in to the FBI about a week ago regarding oil refineries in Pasadena, California. The information that came in suggested that there may be an attack planned for July 12th, today. The FBI passed that information on out of abundance of caution to state and local authorities in California.

KAGAN: And what is it about this that we think this credible information. I'm sure they've heard a lot of stuff?

KAGAN: Well, the FBI does not believe that it's credible information. What sources are telling us that it came from one source, that they didn't attach a whole lot of credibility. As you know, Daryn, we've been getting a lot of information from many -- law enforcement has been getting a lot of information in from many different sources. It puts out bulletins to state and local authorities. As we've reported every Wednesday, a bulletin goes out, and when information comes in from, you know, community sources, to the FBI, it's passed on to state and local authorities.

It is out of abundance of caution it is to be extra careful, even though it's unsubstantiated, it's uncorroborated. In this situation, we are told that it came from one individual. Nonetheless, the FBI not taking any chances.

KAGAN: Kelli Arena in Washington. Kelli, thank you so much.
