CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: Our favorite fly jock, Tom Joyner, back with us on this Wednesday, telling -- giving us his take on big news stories of the day.

You're combing your hair. You all ready to go there, Tom?

TOM JOYNER, "TOM JOYNER MORNING SHOW": Oh you saw that?

CALLAWAY: Yes, we saw that.

JOYNER: I'm sorry.

CALLAWAY: We saw that.

What's everybody talking about in Dallas this morning?

JOYNER: Well the "Tom Joyner Morning Show," of course, is heard nationwide. We're based in Dallas,...

CALLAWAY: Right.

JOYNER: ... but -- and everybody thinks we're in their hometown.

CALLAWAY: That means you're doing a good job.

JOYNER: Anyway -- well thank you. Thank you.

Tiger Woods is one thing that we're talking about. The British Open, of course, starts tomorrow. And Tiger Woods in a press conference was asked how he felt about the fact that the golf course, the country club that they play on in Scotland, has a policy that says no women are allowed in the locker room. And Tiger had something very interesting to say. And it says here it's one of those things where everyone has their -- where everyone has -- they're entitled to set up their own rules the way they want them. "It would be nice to see everyone have an equal chance to participate if they wanted to, but there's nothing you can do about it."

And you know, unfortunately I think this is the attitude of a lot of -- of a lot of black people of that generation because they didn't go through the civil rights era and they take a lot of things for granted. And it's been said if you -- if you don't expect anything, you won't get anything. And thank goodness people like Martin Luther King and others expected more and that's why Tiger's able to play at the British Open. That's why a lot of us are enjoying the freedoms and opportunities that we have because people like Martin Luther King did not accept that attitude of this is the way it is and there's nothing we can do about it. And that's one thing to look at.

CALLAWAY: So Tiger should remember that his mom would not be allowed to play on that course, right?

JOYNER: Yes, right, Tiger Woods' mom would not be able to play...

CALLAWAY: There you go.

JOYNER: ... if that was the case. So that's one thing.

Then the Abner Louima case with Charles Schwartz, the former police officer. He's been convicted twice before in the assault of Abner Louima five years ago. And this has been going back and forth and back and forth. Of course this is the case where Abner Louima was assaulted at the police precinct.

And when you think about that story and -- which happened a couple of year's ago, to today's story about what happened in Los Angeles with the 16-year-old being videotaped by police, it makes you -- it makes you think that, you know, not only do we need videotapes in police cars but we might need videotape in police precincts as well to show us what's really going on.

And then there's a story about Puff Daddy. P. Diddy -- P. Diddy wants his own reality show on NB -- on MTV. And you know, now let me -- let me go back here. Puff Daddy was in a club and he -- there was this thing about a gun and Jennifer Lopez and he went to trial. Puffy, we've seen your reality show already. You really -- you really want another reality show?

CALLAWAY: He wants his reality, not, you know, what we see (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

JOYNER: Yes.

CALLAWAY: He wants his reality on television.

JOYNER: Yes, well we've seen his reality. (UNINTELLIGIBLE)...

CALLAWAY: Well you know what though, everything...

JOYNER: I have this (ph)...

CALLAWAY: He's been successful at just about everything he's done so be interesting to see how this plays out on MTV.

JOYNER: OK. And that's some of the things we're talking about here on the "Tom Joyner Morning Show."

CALLAWAY: All right, Tom, have a great morning. Take care.
