LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: The Emmy nominations were announced this morning, just about a little over -- almost two hours ago. And we are joined now by a young lady who should be quite happy to hear the news that was announced this morning. She is a member of the cast of "Sex and the City," Cynthia Nixon is with us on the phone -- are you there, Cynthia?

CYNTHIA NIXON, ACTRESS, "SEX AND THE CITY": I am here, good morning.

HARRIS: You sound rather happy.

NIXON: I am very happy. It is a nice morning.

HARRIS: I will bet. How did you find out?

NIXON: I was actually in the midst of breakfast, and Angela Tarantino, who does publicity at HBO, called me very excited, shrieking into the phone. It was very nice.

HARRIS: So you didn't watch the Emmy nominations when they were being made?

NIXON: I -- I actually don't have television in my home, I'm sort of a weirdo...

HARRIS: You what?

NIXON: ... so I don't have television in my home.

HARRIS: You what?

NIXON: Yes. So... and you know, a little blissful ignorance at a time like this is to be encouraged, I think.

HARRIS: We have to get you a TV up there and get you some cable, OK? Maybe if you win, maybe we can do that for you, OK?

NIXON: Maybe, maybe.

HARRIS: That is fantastic. Congratulations. As I understand it now, you have been nominated as the best supporting actress in a comedy series...

NIXON: Yes. Yes.

HARRIS: ... and that has got to be awfully rewarding.

NIXON: It is really -- it is really great. You know, we -- "Sex and the City" won last year, which was so exciting, but Sarah and I weren't out there because we are doing plays in New York, so you can be sure we will be there this year with bells on.

HARRIS: Yes, well, your series, actually, did pretty well, as a matter of fact. It is nominated as the outstanding comedy series.

NIXON: Yes.

HARRIS: And Sarah Jessica Parker also picked up a nomination this morning as the best lead actress in a comedy series.

NIXON: Yes, she did. Yes, she did.

HARRIS: So that is not too bad. Have you talked to anybody else on the cast yet?

NIXON: I have talked to -- I have talked to Sarah and Kim has left a message for me, and I have left a message for Kristin. So we are all in the loop, yes.

HARRIS: You want to share what Sarah said with us?

NIXON: Oh, she just said, you know, Congratulations, and you know, whatever. The stuff that you would expect, the stuff that you would expect.

HARRIS: No doubt. Now, how do you celebrate something like this?

NIXON: I think you don't, you try not to let it go to your head. Just try and just to go around, living your normal life, I think.

HARRIS: Well, that is kind of hard to hear you say that, and hard to believe it, because, I mean, considering -- this is some kind of achievement, because this is proof of how long you have been able to put out such quality work here.

NIXON: Yes, I agree. I agree. I think that each year when they continue to say, Hey, you're still in there, and you are still doing great, it means a little bit more. It is like, You know, we have been around, time to give somebody else another chance, but when they come back to us, it really -- it really means a lot.

HARRIS: Now, does this -- is there a threat of this getting inside your head, and you know, when you go back to work, and then now, the pressure is really on because now that you have done this, you have to top this?

NIXON: Luckily, no. Luckily, we only have two days left of shooting, so I don't think it is going to, you know, greatly affect our work for this season, no. HARRIS: Yes. All right. Now, you're -- we all know you're pregnant.

NIXON: Yes, yes.

HARRIS: How are you doing so far?

NIXON: I am doing very well.

HARRIS: How far along are you?

NIXON: I am about five months.

HARRIS: Five months. So you have got a ways to go. And I know you probably haven't thought of names, but if it's a girl, are you call it "Emmy?"

NIXON: I don't think so. I won't have to make that decision because it is a boy, so I won't have to make that decision.

HARRIS: OK. Well, maybe "Emeril" (ph).

NIXON: Emil (ph), Emil (ph).

HARRIS: Emil (ph).

NIXON: Emilliano (ph). Yes, why not?

HARRIS: Emilliano (ph). There you go. That is a great idea. Well, listen, congratulations, whatever you name the baby, congratulations on the Emmy.

NIXON: Thank you.

HARRIS: We hope you work it out somehow, but congrats on the nomination, and good luck when they make the decision.

NIXON: Thank you very much.

HARRIS: Way to go.

NIXON: OK. All right.

HARRIS: Cynthia Nixon of "Sex and the City," a show that received quite a few nominations this morning, and well on its way to having some success in the city.
