KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: Across the Atlantic, all eyes are on one golfer. Can Tiger Woods make it three majors in a row this year? In Scotland, watching his every swing, that as the other 155 golfers, "Sports Illustrated" Patrick Snell.

Hi, Patrick.

PATRICK SNELL, "SPORTS ILLUSTRATED: Very good afternoon to you, from the British open in Scotland. Yes, the man everybody is watching, Tiger Woods. Would he be leading after the first round here at Muirfield. The answer is a firm, no. He is certainly not disgraced himself though. He shot a one under par 70 Thursday. That leaves him at one under par. But Tiger is not at top of the leader board. He has a little bit of work do if he's to get right up there.

The current leader is the American, a Californian, Duffey Woldorf. He Shoot a 67. And he's currently at four under par.

Tiger woods, he was somewhat less down on the putting green, he didn't really have any luck at all, but he's the first to admit that he's still very much in contention, as far as this title goes.

TIGER WOODS, PRO GOLFER: If I make those puts, obviously, there is your score. But, anything under par today is going to be a good score, especially with the weather coming in the next couple days, and it's going to be tough, and any time you get off to a good start like this, under par in a major championship, you're going to be happy.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

SNELL: Still three rounds to go in this tournament. Plenty of time for Tiger to come roaring back, and I'm certainly of the opinion that he will do just that -- Kyra.

PHILLPS: All right. Sounds good. We will be watching, Patrick. Thank you.
