CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: Israel appears to be trying a new tactic in dealing with suicide bombers. Overnight it detained relatives of Palestinian militant suicide bombers and they could be exiled from their homes in the West Bank to Gaza.

Let's turn to Chris Burns who's in Jerusalem with the latest on this.

Hello, Chris.

CHRIS BURNS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hello, Catherine.

Well Israeli authorities say that their forces have moved in to the town of Nablus to arrest and round up a number of family members of two militants, Palestinian militants who have been linked to the two attacks this week. The one, the bus attack that has killed now nine people in -- near Emmanuel that's on the -- on the West Bank earlier this week, as well as the suicide bombing in Tel Aviv a couple of days ago that killed three civilians. The Israelis cracking down by rounding up these family members. According to the Palestinians, 16 men have been rounded up. They are in Israeli custody.

What happens next? Now the Israelis say they would like to -- they are thinking about deporting them to Gaza. But the attorney general of the Israeli government is considering that, speaking with his legal advisers trying to see whether this would hold up in court because it would have to go before a court. The families would or would be expected to appeal any kind of decision to deport those family members. So that's where it stand now -- Catherine.

CALLAWAY: All right, thank you. That's Chris Burns in Jerusalem. Thanks, Chris.
