THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE UPDATED.
DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: She is a leading lady of comedy and a staple of daytime television, Joy Behar entertains millions each day as one of the co-hosts of "The View." There is also a serious side to this funny lady, especially when the subject is near and dear to her heart. And Joy Behar is our guest here this morning -- good morning.
JOY BEHAR, CO-HOST, "THE VIEW": Hi. Good morning.
KAGAN: What a pleasure to have you with us.
BEHAR: I like this, your show. I watch it every morning.
KAGAN: We appreciate that.
BEHAR: I do.
KAGAN: I was trying to get an advanced look at what you guys have been talking about at "The View," and it seems like you are interested in something we just talked about here -- this super Viagra.
BEHAR: Super Viagra is almost like it writes itself. I don't want to go there yet, because I will save it for later, but that and also those twins, I think, would be good topics this morning, those two little twins...
KAGAN: In California.
BEHAR: That's a sad story, but interesting. They are OK.
KAGAN: Sad but hopeful.
BEHAR: Wonderful.
KAGAN: They look like they have a future ahead of them and perhaps future "View," "View" viewers.
BEHAR: We can use all the help we can get.
KAGAN: We know the feeling. Absolutely.
BEHAR: Yes. I love this program, though, because you have James Earl Jones, "This is CNN." It's like scary in a way.
KAGAN: We scare you into watching CNN. And the good news is if he's ever not available, we can call in you, Joy.
BEHAR: Definitely, I sound like a guy anyway.
KAGAN: No, you sound great.
BEHAR: Wait until I take that super Viagra. You won't even...
BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Yes, don't do that.
KAGAN: We were talking at the break about that saying, there has got to be a catch.
BEHAR: You lose weight, tan...
KAGAN: You get tan and your sex drive...
BEHAR: You get tan?
KAGAN: Yes, you get a tan as well.
BEHAR: Does your genitalia get tan also?
KAGAN: You know, I haven't checked. We'll have to get back to you.
BEHAR: But I mean, does this last longer than regular Viagra, because how many hours do we have to fake these orgasms? You know what I mean?
KAGAN: No, see if you take the pill, Joy, no faking is the idea.
BEHAR: Because the women are taking it. Oh.
KAGAN: So try this. For us girls as well.
BEHAR: And I'm going to lose weight?
KAGAN: And you are going to be tan. You are going to be fabulous.
HEMMER: And you're going to live to 175.
BEHAR: Oh, my God. This is CNN.
KAGAN: Yes, exactly. This is the place where you come to find out these things.
Now, funny thing, when you arrived here, you had a whole different medical issue on your mind. You weren't even thinking about that.
BEHAR: Well, no, I'm here to discuss heart disease to the extent that you know, most women are coming down...
KAGAN: We don't talk about the heart disease thing, you think about the men getting the heart attacks.
BEHAR: I know, but women get it more, and I had a very high cholesterol level last year, really high.
KAGAN: How did you find out?
BEHAR: Regular checkup which people are supposed to do. You are supposed to go get regular checkups all the time.
KAGAN: One of those things where they look and they go, Oh, my God, through the roof.
BEHAR: Yes, I did look at my numbers. They were like almost 300, which is a very high number. And...
KAGAN: Not a good thing.
BEHAR: Yes. So I decide -- so the doctor said, Go on the treadmill. Watch what you eat. Watch the fat, the creams, and all that stuff, so I did that and nothing. It didn't really change it because I have a genetic disposition to it. My mother had her first heart attack when she was 50, and my uncles all died of heart attacks, a lot of them did. And it is like, it is in the family, so I got a little scared the first time I saw the numbers like that. So he put me on Pravachol which is a statin and my numbers went down like 100 points in two months.
KAGAN: You are doing better.
BEHAR: Much better. I mean, that's the way to do it, you have to go to the doctor, get that checkup. Have your blood checked, especially if you have a genetic disposition to that. And as you get older, things like that happen. It is patch, patch, patch after 40. Let's face it.
KAGAN: Well, it is all put together very well, let me tell you, because you got "The View" going...
BEHAR: Got "The View."
KAGAN: ... and you have another show coming out.
BEHAR: I have a show called...
KAGAN: "Love, Hate..."
BEHAR: ... "Love, Hate and Joy."
KAGAN: Great name.
BEHAR: It will be on the family network...
KAGAN: Starting on Sunday.
BEHAR: ... ABC Family, ABC Family starting Sunday, August 11. There's one of my guests, Whoopi Goldberg.
KAGAN: So how does it work?
BEHAR: Don't I look relaxed? I'm like lying there.
KAGAN: It's your show.
BEHAR: My goodness. Sit up, girl.
And what we're doing is, it's five half hours on the topic of relationships, so the first night is dating with Janeane Garofalo, then we go to sex with Gene Simmons from Kiss.
KAGAN: Oh, my.
BEHAR: Hello, have you ever seen his tongue. Don't ask.
KAGAN: And his mouth. He has total potty mouth as well. Was he respectful to you? Because he can be really disrespectful to women.
BEHAR: He was respectful as possible.
KAGAN: Entertaining.
BEHAR: But the tongue is not respectful. And then we have -- so it is dating, sex, marriage, infidelity, which was not easy to book...
KAGAN: Why does it sound like the order that life goes in?
BEHAR: ... and divorce. Exactly. So that is what we are doing. So it is August 11 through the 15th, at 10:30 at night on ABC Family.
KAGAN: And then hopefully they'll pick it up, and you know, even bigger things.
BEHAR: Well, maybe. I mean, I don't know if I have time to do any more. I am working hard between taking my Pravachol...
KAGAN: Get the plug in there one more time.
BEHAR: ... doing CNN, and doing two shows. I'm busy.
KAGAN: And we haven't even started getting into super Viagra yet, so then really no time for the show.
BEHAR: You know what, Bill -- you don't need it yet. But soon. Cafferty, he needs it.
KAGAN: We will see you later today on "The View." Joy Behar, thanks for stopping by.
BEHAR: Oh, thank you for having me. It was fun.
KAGAN: I appreciate it.
