CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: If you are still a little crazy over arguing with your kids about school clothes, you are certainly not alone. It's part of the "Talk of CNN" this morning.
We're joined as usual on Tuesday by "The Bert Show" at Q100 in Atlanta.

Good morning, guys.

BERT WEISS, Q100, "THE BERT SHOW": Hey, Carol. Hey, Chad.

CHAD MYERS, CNN METEOROLOGIST: Good morning.

WEISS: How are you guys this morning?

COSTELLO: Oh we're great.

MYERS: Doing good.

COSTELLO: How are you?

WEISS: Really, really, really good.

COSTELLO: OK, so the Britney effect, that's the big topic for parents?

WEISS: Well, yes, here in Atlanta we had about 600,000 students go back to school yesterday so back-to-school shopping is kind of top of mind right now. And what we're hearing a lot of is like you know 40-something moms going to go shopping with their preteen daughters and the preteen daughter picks out like half top shirt that says "Hottie" on it or "Houchie" and she's got the, you know, the hip hugging pants on so...

COSTELLO: Yes, and her whole stomach is bare and...

WEISS: Yes, and we're just talking today about how moms deal with that and the things that they can tell their kids in order for them both to get along well.

COSTELLO: Oh you've got to give us some tips.

WEISS: Well what I've read so far is this is a really great thing to hide behind here is look up school policy. If you don't want to take the heat yourself as a mom, just look up school policy and chances are pretty good that it's going to say you know you can't have your mid section covered. COSTELLO: Well that's true, but some schools don't they allow other kind of sexy looking clothes for preteens other than the stomach baring type?

WEISS: It has been so long since I've been in school wearing sexy clothes, you are asking the wrong person.

JEFF DAULER, Q100, "THE BERT SHOW": Bert had the 'Keep on Truckin' shirt. That was considered sexy for him.

COSTELLO: Oh just the image of that is killing me.

WEISS: But it really does get to be, you know, quite an argument between parents and their kids because you know the kids don't want to go to school and look nerdy and all of their friends are wearing it also so where's the compromise?

COSTELLO: Well, and then you've got the kids that dress one way when they're at home and they have something in their knapsack to put on later. And they put on those revealing clothes and it's really kind of left up to school officials to call the parents to say you know your kid's not dressed properly.

WEISS: You would think so. But like you said, a lot of these schools don't have any kind of policy at all. So the parents let the kids go off out of the house with, you know, wearing regular school clothes and then they get to class and they look like Britney in her first video.

COSTELLO: Yes, just makes you wish for school uniforms, doesn't it?

WEISS: Not me personally.

(LAUGHTER)

COSTELLO: Let's talk about the new Vin Diesel movie because you say that the audience that is seeing the Vin Diesel movie "XXX" is not the audience we'd expect.

WEISS: Yes, made (UNINTELLIGIBLE) but it's not all guys going to this thing.

LINDSAY BRIEN, Q100, "THE BERT SHOW": Yes, about two-thirds of the audience was under 25 and half of the audience was women, which was completely surprising to the studio. I think they believe that, you know, it's the excitement, the thrills, the, you know, all the extreme sports that's very sexy to women and that, you know, maybe men were just intimidated by this.

COSTELLO: Yes, intimidated by his machismo. And I think women just think he's hot.

BRIEN: Yes, women just like to drool over him anyway.

WEISS: And I'll tell you what, this is a guy, Vin Diesel, that guys can have a guy crush on also.

COSTELLO: They can?

MYERS: Really, I'll pass though, again, thanks guys.

WEISS: It has -- it's nothing to do with sex at all. It's just one of these guys that guys want to hang out with and just want to be liked by, you know?

MYERS: Or I'll take his car.

WEISS: All right.

MYERS: Yes.

COSTELLO: Yes, definitely.

MYERS: Sweet.

COSTELLO: OK, quickly, we have to talk about "American Idol" because this show has just gone -- I mean it's so popular, it's bizarre.

WEISS: Yes, and it's really exciting for us here in Atlanta, too, because we still have two contestants left in it.

DAULER: Well we -- and we kind of have two-and-a-half contestants left in it because R.J. Helton and Tamyra Gray are both from Atlanta. And then Justin, or Sideshow Bob, whichever you want to call him, he was originally from Atlanta and he moved up to I think Philadelphia I believe since then.

COSTELLO: Wow! And Tamyra, she's rumored to be -- I think she's going to win, isn't she? Doesn't everyone think she's going to win?

WEISS: Yes, well some odds came out yesterday from Las Vegas and they're pretty interesting how they're sorted out.

DAULER: If you're a -- if you're a bookie, here's the order you're putting them in. Tamyra Gray to take the whole thing, followed by Justin, followed by Kelly Clarkson from Dallas, R.J. Helton from right here in Atlanta and the No. 5 is Nikki McKibbin, which is the -- you know the girl -- the cute girl with the pink hair.

COSTELLO: The cute girl with the pink hair.

WEISS: That's how she'll...

BRIEN: Mr. (UNINTELLIGIBLE) lookalike.

WEISS: That's how she'll be known for the rest of her life.

COSTELLO: Probably so.

Well thank you guys for joining us this morning. We sure appreciate it. Thank you Q100... MYERS: Thanks guys.

COSTELLO: ... and "The Bert Show."
