CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: A bank in Omaha, Nebraska has come up with a wildly popular way to reward customers who brave a traffic nightmare to visit the ATM. You say there's no such thing as free money? Well, think again.
Carol Rivera of our affiliate WOWT has the story.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

CAROL RIVERA, WOWT CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): A trip up Dodge Street these days can be almost painful, ducking the signs and orange barrels.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: There's some pretty long waits and delays coming in and out.

RIVERA: American National Bank has to be one of the businesses hardest hit by the construction at 90th and Dodge. They're located on the corner and in the heart of the chaos. But they've come up with a unique way to help ease the nerves of those using the bank's ATM machine.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: We've laced our ATM machine with some 50s and 20s and some users will get some nice surprises.

RIVERA: Meaning you may ask for $40 and your account will be charged that amount, but instead of a $20, you may get a $50.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: There's a 50 every thousand 20. And on the 10 side, there's 20 every 350 bills.

RIVERA: And the news has traveled fast thanks to this sign alerting drivers. Usage has doubled at this machine and perhaps cheered up some.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Driving on Dodge Street is extremely frustrating right now. This has helped a little bit. We see a little bit more ease in some of the drivers as they pull away.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

COSTELLO: The bank says the ATM use at that location has nearly doubled in the weeks since the Road Warrior promotion began. No surprise there.
