LISA BALDWIN, CNN AFFILIATE KPRC REPORTER (voice-over): Two teenage sisters stand before a Harris County Family Court judge, who agreed only to transfer this unusual case to Fort Bend County, where the family lives.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: The court finds that it has no jurisdiction.

BALDWIN: Now 16 and 17, the sisters filed a petition last month seeking control of where they live, saying they could not tolerate their gay mother's promiscuity and lifestyle. Their mother blames her daughters' feelings on the teachings of this church the family used to attend together with other relatives.

Kimla Green says she and her daughters have now come to a compromise.

KIMLA GREEN, MOTHER: My agreement is not to show any type of homosexual lifestyle in front of my kids, or to do anything to make them feel uncomfortable concerning the gay lifestyle.

BALDWIN: In exchange, her daughters are compromising by reluctantly agreeing to have nothing more to do with the Body of Christ ministry.

LAKENNA, KIMLA GREEN'S DAUGHTER: I don't like the fact that we can't come to the church anymore, and we can't talk to anymore -- or anybody at the church.

NICKY, KIMLA GREEN'S DAUGHTER: Before we even attended the church, we had discussed and talked about her lifestyle. So it wasn't the church's decision, and they didn't brainwash us.

BALDWIN: Their mother still disagrees, but she says this was not a tough compromise for her to make.

GREEN: Because I love my kids, and I'd rather see them with me, because my kids will always be there. You know, relationships may come and go, but my girls will always be daughters.
