MILES O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: Wouldn't you really rather be born in a Buick? Here's our story from reporter Chris O'Connell of our Tampa Bay news affiliate, News 9.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

CHRIS O'CONNELL, NEWS 9 CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Already a father of three, Scott Cannon (ph) has heard it before.

SCOTT CANNON: She's telling me she was having contractions. And she'd been having contractions for two weeks in a row. So, I'm getting ready for work, and then she says she was serious.

O'CONNELL: You can say that again. That's when Scott and his wife Nicole (ph) hopped in the family car and hi-tailed it to the hospital. But they didn't quite make it.

CANNON: Between when I put my blinker on and started turning the steering wheel to get up into the RaceTrack.

O'CONNELL: That quick.

CANNON: And I looked over, and it was a baby.

O'CONNELL: A baby girl, brought into the world in a Buick.

CANNON: My little girl was just looking at the car like, "I know you all didn't have me in a car."

O'CONNELL: Yes, in a car, and dad even shot video to prove it. But, wait. There's more.

CHAD SCHUMM, ST. PETERSBURG FIREFIGHTER: And then another was coming, that's when she told us that she was pregnant with twins.

O'CONNELL: Yes. Twins. With the help of St. Petersburg firefighters, Nicole gave birth to twin baby girls, in a RaceTrack gas station parking lot.

RICK PAULEY, ST. PETERSBURG FIREFIGHTER: She told us the baby was coming. You know, moms always know before we do.

O'CONNELL: Mom and both babies were rushed to Bay Front (ph) medical center and all are doing just fine.
