CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: A funeral is being held today at Arlington National Cemetery for those who died in the terrorist attack on the Pentagon. The funeral is especially meaningful for the families of five victims.
CNN's Elaine Quijano joins us live from the cemetery with more on this story -- Elaine.

ELAINE QUIJANO, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning to you, Carol.

Well, 3,000 people are expected here at Arlington National Cemetery for this public funeral service for the Pentagon attack victims.

Now, for the families who have already endured so much over the past year, this is a chance to grieve together.

QUIJANO (voice-over): Arlington Cemetery sits just a few miles away from the nation's capital, a final resting place for thousands. Now, one area in the shadow of the Pentagon honors those who died there in the terrorist attacks.

Here in Cemetery Section 64, dozens of Pentagon victims are already buried, and today's largely symbolic service focuses on five families who never received remains. One casket containing the cremated remains of the unidentified victims will be buried.

Craig Sincock (ph) worked at the Pentagon for 14 hours the day of the attack. He spent most of that time watching his wife, Cheryl's (ph), office window burn. She died that day, along with 183 other victims here. Still, Sincock (ph) finds some comfort in being at Arlington Cemetery.

CRAIG SINCOCK (ph), HUSBAND OF 9/11 PENTAGON VICTIM: I feel really kind of honored myself to just be standing here, and I'm going to feel her presence and feel the presence of those other people who were lost that day.

QUIJANO: Now, Craig Sincock (ph) said he wanted to stay away from yesterday's September 11 observance at the Pentagon. He said it would be just too difficult, and he felt that it would be better for him to mark the anniversary here.

We're live at Arlington National Cemetery. I'm Elaine Quijano.

Carol -- back to you.
