CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: It's time now for the "Talk of CNN" at 45 minutes past the hour. The guys at Atlanta's Fox 97.1 tell us what their listeners are talking about.
On the line now, Randy and Spiff, the guys who always get me in trouble.

SPIFF CARNER, FOX 97.1, ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Oh, don't blame us, Carol. Don't blame us.

RANDY COOK, FOX 97.1, ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Yes. Yes.

CARNER: I think you do that on your own.

COSTELLO: Oh, you're going to get me fired one day...

CARNER: No.

COSTELLO: ... and then I'm coming -- I'm coming after you.

COOK: That's fine.

CARNER: Oh great.

COSTELLO: OK, so you have this top 10 list of college freshman and the darndest things they say.

CARNER: Well you know this is Beloit College, the class -- they do this every year, they put something out. It's called a 2005 Mindset. It's all the kids who are entering college this year as freshman.

COSTELLO: Where's Beloit College?

CARNER: Beloit College is in Wisconsin.

COOK: Right. Very good, Spiff, I'm sure she probably knew that.

CARNER: Well there's a lot of Beloits.

COOK: But...

(LAUGHTER)

COOK: ... it's right on the Illinois/Wisconsin line.

COSTELLO: OK. Thank you. COOK: All right.

COSTELLO: And I like the way you say Wisconsin.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Wisconsin.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Wisconsin. See we're from up there, you know.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes, we're cheese heads.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: OK there.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: OK there.

COSTELLO: Oh get on with it.

CARNER: OK.

COOK: All right.

CARNER: Well most students start college and they were born in 1983. Here are some things that you know they're not used to like Ricky Nelson, Marvin Gaye, Laura Ashley have always been dead to these kids -- always.

IBM Selectric typewriters, remember those?

COSTELLO: Oh yes.

CARNER: Yes, those are antiques to these kids.

COOK: They've never seen them.

CARNER: There's always been diet Cokes. Artificial hearts always been ticking.

COSTELLO: Wow!

CARNER: They were born the same year as the PC and the Mac.

COOK: Wow!

CARNER: Also, the Colts have always been in Indianapolis -- always in Indianapolis.

COOK: And they may not be there for long, as I understand it.

COSTELLO: Yes, they could go to Los Angeles, huh?

COOK: Yes.

COSTELLO: Yes.

CARNER: This is one of my favorites, Ron Howard and Rob Reiner to them have always been balding, older film directors. (LAUGHTER)

CARNER: I -- and "Survivor" is a TV show not a rock group.

COOK: Oh, the youth of today.

CARNER: I don't know why I do this every year, it just makes me feel older and older every time I read this.

COOK: What will become of us?

COSTELLO: I don't know. I know Chad just wrote down 1983 the year a college freshman was born. That's just...

(LAUGHTER)

CHAD MYERS, CNN METEOROLOGIST: I just saw Survivor in concert, I...

CARNER: Yes, you see, exactly. Unbelievable.

COOK: I can see you singing "Eye of the Tiger," yes.

MYERS: Yes.

COSTELLO: Oh my God!

MYERS: As I run up the stairs of the Philadelphia whatever that was.

COSTELLO: Oh God!

CARNER: These kids don't remember Janet Jackson when she was cute and chubby.

COSTELLO: Oh she's...

CARNER: They don't.

COSTELLO: ... cuter now.

CARNER: Well she's cuter now,...

COOK: Much better now.

CARNER: ... but the chubby is gone.

COSTELLO: Well thank goodness.

CARNER: Exactly.

COSTELLO: OK, Randy and Spiff, we've got to go. We have limited time today.

CARNER: OK.

COSTELLO: We've got breaking news.

CARNER: OK.

COOK: OK.

MYERS: Yes.

COSTELLO: Thanks, we'll catch you next Friday.
