FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: A Florida couple's marriage didn't start off rocky, but it did start off a little stormy. Tropical Storm Hanna was the uninvited guest at the couple's wedding. Reporter Jamie Roth with affiliate station WPMI has the story from Pensacola.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JAMIE ROTH, WPMI CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Imagine being swept away, caught up in the madness of it all.

Roderick and Velorian Mills now know the meaning of a whirlwind romance.

RODERICK MILLS, JUST MARRIED: We wanted to do something different. And...

VELORIAN MILLS, JUST MARRIED: Oh, this is definitely something different.

R. MILLS: We just didn't know how much, you know.

(LAUGHTER)

ROTH: With Tropical Storm Hanna bearing down on the Gulf Coast, Roderick and Velorian took shelter from the storm by huddling with family and friends and exchanging vows along Pensacola's beach at sunrise. Even though the sun turned out to be the wedding's only no- show, the meaning wasn't lost.

R. MILLS: We want to rise, be rising up to a new day.

ROTH: And when love is in the air, no matter how blustery that air is, inspiration abounds.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I guess if it's a girl, they'll call it Hanna.

In my generation, that's what happens next.

ROTH: Some worried about mother nature causing more stress than a future mother-in-law.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Rough waters to start with.

ROTH: But Roderick and Velorian saw nothing but blue skies. R. MILLS: A dawning of a new day, most definitely.

ROTH (on camera): A wedding that weathers the storm may just be a fortuitous sign for the marriage.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: If you weather that out, you can weather anything out.

ROTH (voice-over): Jamie Roth, Pensacola, Florida.
