CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: But have you heard about this, Minnesota Vikings receiver Randy Moss is pretty good at avoiding defensive backs but he apparently just doesn't quite know how to handle traffic cops. Moss could be charged today with felony assault with a dangerous weapon and he does remain in jail at this hour. He's accused of bumping a traffic control officer in Minneapolis with his car.
The traffic officer reportedly was trying to stop Moss from making an illegal turn, and allegedly Moss used his 2002 Lexus to slowly push the officer along the street. The officer was out of her car. The officer wasn't hurt, but of course the Randy Moss story is heating up the airwaves in Minnesota.

It is time for "The Talk of CNN" with the "The Dave Ryan in the Morning Show" on KDWB in Minneapolis St. Paul.

Oh my goodness, good morning guys.

DAVE RYAN, "THE DAVE RYAN IN THE MORNING SHOW," KDWB MINNEAPOLIS ST. PAUL: Good morning, Carol, how are you?

ANGI TAYLOR, "THE DAVE RYAN IN THE MORNING SHOW," KDWB MINNEAPOLIS ST. PAUL: Hello.

COSTELLO: What is with Randy Moss?

RYAN: I tell you, it's just a matter of time. If things get slow around the Twin Cities, we just kind of look to Randy for a little something and isn't it amazing that Randy has dropped this story in our lap to entertain the world with this morning. It's...

COSTELLO: It's just unbelievable. This was a traffic officer outside of her vehicle...

RYAN: Yes.

COSTELLO: ... and he allegedly runs into her with his car, pushes her for a block,...

TAYLOR: Yes.

COSTELLO: ... and knocks her off her feet.

RYAN: What I thought at first had happened, I thought she was in her car and he was like pushing her car; and I thought well that's bad enough. But when I found out that she was in front of -- he was -- she was in front of his car yelling stop, holding her hand up and blowing her whistle and he decided to keep nudging her along for about 50 yards down the street, which was, by the way, the longest gain Randy Moss has had this entire year, so he's pretty excited about that.

TAYLOR: Aw. Aw.

RYAN: But...

COSTELLO: Well maybe that's part of his problem, the Vikings are off to a terrible start. They're 0-3 and what, he touches...

RYAN: Yes.

COSTELLO: ... four passes for 16 yards in Sunday's game. Maybe he's just a little stressed by that.

RYAN: I would -- you know it's got to be stressful.

TAYLOR: He's a little frustrated.

RYAN: He doesn't like playing for the Vikings because he wants to be -- to paraphrase what he said -- he wants to be on a team that has a chance to go to the Super Bowl. And he's probably upset about that. But OK, we all get upset during our day at one thing or another, but most of us don't, you know, push a traffic cop 50 yards down the street.

COSTELLO: Does he do this kind -- I mean is this normal behavior -- this alleged behavior, I should say, is this something -- I mean does Randy Moss stir up the airwaves in Minnesota a lot?

TAYLOR: He does. Randy has a reputation around here in the city with local everybody of just kind of having that attitude like I'm Randy Moss, get out of my way or I'm Randy Moss, I shouldn't have to pay or I'm not standing in line, I'm Randy Moss. He's kind of like -- he's kind of got that attitude. He's -- you know he's a star, and unfortunately you know made a lot of money very young and kind of took it the wrong way. Rather than doing something good with it, he's shown us who he really is.

RYAN: Yes.

COSTELLO: Well I'm telling you, if he did this, this is assaulting a police officer.

TAYLOR: Yes.

COSTELLO: This is a felony.

TAYLOR: Yes.

COSTELLO: He's in jail. He didn't bond out.

RYAN: Well this...

COSTELLO: Doesn't have his cell phone with him, his agent could not get a hold of him.

RYAN: There is a PlayStation in the Lexus but apparently not a cell phone. I guess they wouldn't call a judge to get the judge to come back down after business hours to bail him out so that's going to happen probably first thing today -- Carol.

COSTELLO: OK, well we'll be following this story, as I'm sure will you.

RYAN: Yes, we will.

TAYLOR: Oh yes.

COSTELLO: Thank you, "Dave Ryan Show." We'll get back to you next week.

TAYLOR: Thanks, Carol.

RYAN: Thanks, Carol, bye-bye.

COSTELLO: Bye.
