CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We're headed to Jimmy Barrett right now. Yup, it's time for The Talk of CNN.
Jimmy Barrett at WRVA News Radio 1140.

JIMMY BARRETT, WRVA RADIO CORRESPONDENT: Carol Costello and Chad Myers checking in with -- hey.

COSTELLO: See, we're simulcasting. That's why you hear that weird thing going on between us.

CHAD MYERS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning.

COSTELLO: Hey, Jimmy?

BARRETT: Good morning you two.

Hey, the prodigal son decided to finally come back home.

MYERS: Yes.

COSTELLO: It's about time, isn't it?

MYERS: I ran out of money. I had to come back home.

BARRETT: Too bad you couldn't get a gumbo in New Orleans.

MYERS: I couldn't get anything. I had ribs from TGI Friday's. How sad is that? I could not get no Cajun spice nowhere.

BARRETT: That is...

MYERS: Everything was closed.

BARRETT: Yes, I think...

COSTELLO: Hey, speaking of New Orleans, you know that brings up the Detroit Lions, because they played one heck of a game, Jimmy Barrett.

BARRETT: Well, as they would say in New Orleans, who dat? Who dat? Who dose Detroit Lions? Well, here's, you'll get a kick out of this one. Yesterday at the, at Ford Field, the Detroit Lions' Joey Harrington, I mean he really, he may well be the quarterback of the future. Defense helped out, too. There's...

COSTELLO: And special teams. BARRETT: And special teams. That's what it was all about. There's the defense scoring a touchdown yesterday.

COSTELLO: James Hall.

BARRETT: Here comes Joey Harrington. He's -- now this guy, does this look like a throw from a rookie quarterback? Wow. Nice job, Detroit Lions. They finally win 26-21. The Saints were undefeated going into that game. The Lions get their first win of the year. And you guys will get a kick out of this one. A radio station in Detroit was doing a promotion, the old Saints paper bag promotion. You put the paper bag over your head...

MYERS: Sure, right. Right.

BARRETT: Right? OK. And evidently anybody who wore those things thrown out of the stadium. So they had to make -- evidently they've made a compromise deal that says OK, you can wear Groucho Marks' style noses and glasses if you want to go ahead and hide your identity. But you know what? The Lions play like that again this upcoming week, you won't have to hide your identity anymore.

COSTELLO: Oh, I was keeping my fingers crossed.

MYERS: Play ball.

COSTELLO: Hey, what's with the St. Louis Rams?

BARRETT: Well, the St. Louis Rams have all sorts of problems. Who would have thought that the Rams would be 0 and 4 after week number four of the NFL season? And the biggest problem -- here we go with the overtime attempt at a field goal. Yes, it's good! They end up losing by a field goal.

MYERS: Well, yes...

BARRETT: But the biggest problem, the biggest problem for the Rams, they lose Kurt Warner. Now, this is not the kind of injury you would brag about to your friends -- I broke my pinkie finger. But if you're a quarterback and you're trying to throw with your right hand, well, that makes for a problem.

COSTELLO: Oh. Did you see a picture of his broken finger? I would be crying.

BARRETT: I did. You know, I've seen guys play with a lot worse injuries than that. I don't think that's the issue here. But, you know, you have to sort of...

MYERS: Yes, but you're 6'5," 260, though, buddy. You're a lineman.

BARRETT: Let it be shown that Chad Myers is guilty again of exaggeration, ladies and gentlemen.

MYERS: You should see the size of his ankles. They're about the size of my thighs.

BARRETT: My wife...

COSTELLO: What?

BARRETT: Wait a minute. My wife would tell you I have no ankles.

MYERS: Well...

COSTELLO: Do we have time to talk about one more team, oh producers in the control room?

BARRETT: You know what? If we have...

COSTELLO: OK, let's talk -- let's talk Steelers. Oh, go ahead. Jimmy Barrett, you had a choice.

BARRETT: Well, I was going to make a suggestion here, because I wanted to get to the play of the day, which was from the Green Bay Carolina game. If we can pull that highlight up.

COSTELLO: Oh, yes.

BARRETT: I love this play.

COSTELLO: Oh, yes.

BARRETT: See, the little razzle dazzle here. Brett Farve, all right, is going to lateral to Bubba Franks. There's the lateral. Bubba Franks, who throws both right and left handed, throw\s a perfect strike left handed. That's right. He throws it -- are you ready...

COSTELLO: As Terry Bradshaw said, he's amphibious.

BARRETT: Exactly right.

MYERS: He's a switch pitcher.

BARRETT: I mean if he runs, Bubba, if he runs to the right he throws right handed. If he runs to the left he throws left handed.

MYERS: That'd make him a west paw.

BARRETT: Oh, I'll tell you what...

MYERS: Whatever he wants.

BARRETT: ... great game. You know what? And here's the missed field goal at the end of the game that, you know, Carolina was undefeated going into that game. They lost. Green Bay and Carolina are both 3-1 now. By the way, can I just quickly mention our winner of the day award?

COSTELLO: OK, hurry. Hurry. BARRETT: Jerry Rice caught an 11 yard, fourth quarter pass. It makes him the NFL career leader in yards from scrimmage. Loser award, I guess I'm going to give that to the America Ryder's Cup team. They lost to Europe over the weekend.

COSTELLO: Oh, yes.

MYERS: Yes, they did.

COSTELLO: Yes, that was bad.

BARRETT: Yes, it was.

COSTELLO: Tiger had a fever and somebody over celebrated in golf. It was the Spanish guy.

BARRETT: How can you over celebrate?

COSTELLO: I don't know, but they did. They were complaining about it. But we're going to get more on that a little bit later.

Thank you, Jimmy Barrett. Fun as usual.

BARRETT: See you, guys.

COSTELLO: We'll catch you.

MYERS: Take care, Jimmy.

BARRETT: Bye-bye.

MYERS: Though he takes 45 seconds and hit the ball.

BARRETT: Chad and Carol...

MYERS: So I mean anything, any kind of celebration would be big for him, right?

COSTELLO: Yes, yes.
