WOLF BLITZER, CNN ANCHOR: We do have a breaking story we are getting right now coming into CNN. The Republican Party in New Jersey has decided to go ahead and file an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court that would not allow the Democratic -- the Democrats in New Jersey to replace Robert Torricelli on the election ballot.
Frank Lautenberg, the former senator, has been tapped by the Democrats. of course, to become the Democratic candidate. The New Jersey Supreme Court said Yes, that would be fine, go ahead and do it.

But now the Republicans, as expected, have filed an appeal before the U.S. Supreme Court here in Washington. We'll follow that development and report on that as well.
